New Patient Dry Eye Consultation and Evaluation

CONSULTATION

If you’re struggling with burning, watering, or tired eyes, you’re not alone. Dry eye is one of the most common eye conditions — and the good news is, it’s treatable. A Dry Eye Consultation is the first step toward understanding the cause of your symptoms and creating a personalized plan to help you feel better.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR CONSULTATION

01

Recent Routine Eye Exam Records Required

Before your dry eye visit, we require a routine eye exam within the past year. This ensures we’re focusing the consultation entirely on your dry eye needs.

02

A Comprehensive 1-Hour Visit

Your Dry Eye Consultation lasts about one hour. During this time, you’ll work one-on-one with your doctor, who will run a series of gentle, in-depth tests to see how well your eyes produce and maintain tears.

03

State of the art dry eye testing

We look closely at the front of your eyes, including the assessment of the Meibomian (oil) Glands, Tear Meniscus, Non-invasive Tear Break Up Time, Blink Analysis, Lid/Lash imaging. This helps us understand the root cause of your symptoms — not just the effects.

04

Personalized Treatment Plan

At the end of the visit, your doctor will review your results with you in simple terms. Together, you’ll build a custom treatment plan — whether that includes eye drops, in-office treatments, or other therapies — to help restore comfort and protect your vision.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Dry eye can happen when your eyes don’t produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly. This can be caused by inflammation, blocked oil glands, medical conditions, medications, or environmental factors. By identifying the root cause, we can recommend targeted treatments rather than just temporary relief.

YOUR PERSONALIZED PLAN

At the end of your consultation, your doctor will walk you through your results in simple, clear terms. Together, you’ll build a customized treatment plan — which may include prescription drops, in-office procedures, or lifestyle changes — to help restore comfort and protect your vision.
