Dry Eye Center of Arizona is a specialty eye care practice that is modern, tech-forward. We offer a lot of educational materials on dry eye and treatments our patients feel informed in their decisions. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive dry eye care to help our patients achieve the best possible eye health.
Dr. Andrew B. Zagelbaum was raised on Long Island, New York and received his B.A. degree at Hunter College City University of New York in Manhattan. Growing up on Long Island, Dr. Zagelbaum spent more than 10 years working in eye care prior to attending optometry school. During this time, he worked with several ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Northeast, while also working with the medical staff of several professional sports teams across the National Football League and National Hockey League. In 2017, Dr. Zagelbaum's study with the New York Jets titled Peripheral Awareness and Visual Reaction Time in Professional Football Players in the National Football League (N.F.L.) was published in the journal Optometry & Visual Performance.
Dr. Zagelbaum went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. During his 4th year rotations, Dr. Zagelbaum spent 3 months training and learning the techniques of dry eye and ocular surface disease diagnosis and treatment working directly with Drs. Arthur Epstein and Cory Lappin at Phoenix Eye Care and the Dry Eye Center of Arizona.
After graduating from the New England College of Optometry in 2023, Dr. Zagelbaum returned to Phoenix to continue his work in dry eye and ocular disease. In 2025, Dr. Zagelbaum purchased the Dry Eye Center of Arizona from Phoenix Eye Care to open it as a standalone practice to continue serving his patients with complex dry eye.
Dr. Zagelbaum is a member of the American Optometric Association and sits on the board of directors for the Arizona Optometric Association. He also serves as a lecturer, industry consultant, and writer, advocating for dry eye patients and care.
